VFN DISPATCHERS

Virginia’s original and only, fire notification network. VFN is the OLDEST operating Fire Net in the country beginning service in November 1990. We share our “age group” with Carolinas Fire Page (CFP), Breaking News Network (BNN), Central Illinois Fire Net (CIFN) and a few other groups around the nation.

NOTE: VFN was NEVER sold to any other network. VFN has remained in continuous operation since 1989. The VFN name was used in some other services to promote their sales and buy-outs. (see below for a timeline of VFN’s History)

VFN is, and always will be a subsidiary of the Tidewater Fire Photographers Association as founded by Martin Grube and other members of TFPA as a means of group communications and notifications. VFN provides coverage in the greater Tidewater Area and Richmond Metro area at this time, and we expect to have coverage in the western part of the state very soon.
